Minnesota Housing Prices Reflect Income Gains, Low RatesSome of the highest priced housing in Minnesota is in the Twin Cities metro area. With those prices come concerns about affordability and a housing valuation bubble. Two reports produced by separate organizations (National Association of REALTORS® and Shenehon Center for Real Estate, University of St. Thomas) indicate those fears may be misplaced in Minnesota... Real Estate Loan Fraud Activities AddressedIn a coalition of real estate industry associations, the Minnesota REALTORS® have drafted an article that is being distributed to all members of the Association, as well as members of the mortgage, banking, credit union and title associations. Fraudulent loan activities - especially those with funding that is not disclosed to the secondary mortgage market - are raising concerns in light of an FBI and Minnesota Department of Commerce investigation. The transactions frequently include a substantial "kick-back" from the seller to the buyer after closing.
