passes budget with NO DUES increase
Anticipating a 15 percent fall in membership dues revenue for Fiscal Year 2008, the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® (MNAR) Board of Directors passed a NO DUES increase budget for 2008. Since FY2001, the MNAR BOD passed the budget recognitizing that the Association should not be increasing the dues burden on members at a time when their personal income is stagnant or falling.

Thinking About Real Estate...
An article in Ad Age Magazine by Steve Rubel got me thinking about our business and some of the trends the industry is encountering. His article is named "Why pay for expert opinions when you can just go online?" No, he does not surmise that REALTORS® are going the way of the dinosaur – he does not even mention real estate.
Instead, his article touches every industry and service provided to consumers. "For thousands of years, information was centralized with a few subject-matter experts. Now, thanks to search, broadband and instant publishing tools, everyone in the global village can contribute to the collective knowledge. This reduces the need for middleman." He states.
